The Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act requires all pesticides sold or distributed in the US to be registered by EPA. When EPA has determined that no unreasonable adverse effects to human health or the environment will result from the sale or distribution of a pesticide product, it grants the applicant a license or “registration” to legally sell and distribute the product in the United States.
